Congratulations to the Waverley Gymnasts, coached by Matthew on Mental Fitness, for their team success in Stuttgart, Germany at the EnBW DTB Pokal Cup.
As part of the partnership with Badminton Australia Matthew Scholes will undertake work as BA’s Mental Fitness Consultant to the High Performance Program. Additionally the Positive Sports Coaching training opportunities will be offered to BA Coaches and Clubs.
Matthew Scholes is a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Sport and Social Impact at La Trobe University. La Trobe Universty’s Centre for Sport and Social Impact is a leading research and teaching Centre that works across a broad range of professional sports teams and organisations particularly focused on athlete health and developing first class sports management practices.
Matthew is the Mental Fitness Coach for the Waverley Gymnastics Olympic Program working with both Athletes and Coaches to build their mental fitness. Congratulations to Emily Whitehead for making the Australian Olympic Team for Tokyo and to John Hart for being appointed to the Australian Team Coach for Tokyo 2021.
Matthew is pleased to be working with the Waverley Gymnastics Olympic Program running 1:1 sessions with the athletes and coaches in the lead up to the Tokyo Olympic Trials
Matthew is an invited reviewer for the Journal of Positive Psychology (JOPP) and the International Journal of Sports Psychology (IJSP)
Matthew Scholes has been appointed the Performance and Wellbeing consultant for Gymnastics Victoria’s High Performance Mens program.
